My One Way Ticket

A one way ticket...for anybody, can feel threatening when it is purchased without the intent of a return.

I have finally purchased my one way ticket and things are starting to feel FINAL.

This move to Nayarit has been almost two years in the making and to be honest I have often felt that it would never arrive.

My situation has always felt somewhat like a dream that I wasn't really living.  It was hard to be married for one year and then have to be separated for two.  This was a hard and long journey for both my husband and I am so glad and thankful that it has all come to an end - the separation, not the marriage.

So much change lies ahead for me and I know I will be struggling to adapt.  It is true what is said about change and the unknown.  Both are not usually welcomed with open arms.  I believe to truly be successful in my transition I will have to embrace both with my eyes wide open.  Does that make sense?

Back when I started this blog, I had no idea I would be meeting such wonderful, intelligent people.  Thank you for your comments and posts, they have helped me to see this experience in a new positive light.

On Sunday Oct. 2nd I will make the title of this blog a reality and not just a dream.

Oh and did I mention I'm very excited?

Because I am, even if it is to delve into those dreadful things in life like change and the unknown.

  7. I am so excited for you. I too just bought a one way ticket for Nov 12 but of course I am coming back in 5 months so not nearly as many emotions involved. I can almost imagine all the mixed emotions you must be having. I wish you all the best and hope you have a good internet connection so I can see how well you are doing and how amazing it is for you.

  9. Cheryl: You bet it's going to get interesting, I can only imagine.

Angie: Making the house into a castle is all consuming (money & time) but little by little we'll get there. B says that once I get there we are going to put the electricity, make a closet for our bedroom, paint, and if there is any if we have enough dinero put the counters in the kitchen.

As for papers, we will be looking into it soon but we'll see.

Chantel: Thanks! Hope to be adding more soon.

Estrellita: Hello and welcome! I agree two years felt like an eternity. Your picture of the quote "We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us." summed up exactly what I am feeling about this move. Hope to hear more from you.

Mary: Mixed emotions indeed! So happy to be finally reuniting with B but sad to be leaving behind my family. I have yet to check out the new "cyber" at the ranch but hope it's good. I bet you are counting the days til Nov 12th!

Lisa n Javi: Thank you and hope all is well with you.

  10. It's official, you have a departure date!! But it is also an arrival date, a new beginning, a new adventure, another path down the road of life. It is time for you to make this journey. Yes it is sad to leave your family but you have another family eager for your arrival. Your US family will be able to visit and you will come see them. If is not a forever parting.

Now is the time you make your blog vibrant with all that is Mexico. We all eagerly look forward to following your new life if not daily then at least weekly. Plus you know that there is a good chance some of us will come visit this winter. Sort of like meeting old friends for the first time!!

Make the most of each minute of your final days here.

    Hugs,

  11. Contessa: You are right about having another family eager for my arrival; I hadn't thought about it all that way.

I can't wait to see about what new things I may write about. I plan on keeping a journal to write down my thoughts and ideas for posts.

I would very much like to meet my old/new friends and am very much looking forward to it. I have to remember to email you all my info just in case you make it down to the San Blas area.
